Telemundo today announced it’s beefing up its news talent. The network added 3 new correspondents. All talent will work in all of Telemundo’s properties, including “Al Rojo Vivo,” “Noticiero Telemundo,” and digital platforms.
Enrique Acevedo joins the team as Miami correspondent. He comes from Televisa in Mexico City, where he was an anchor and reporter. He most recently hosted “La Otra Agenda,” a daily news program on ForoTV, Televisa’s 24-hr cable news channel. He was also a correspondent for the investigative news magazine “Los Reporteros.” Prior to Televisa, Enrique was national affairs reporter at Grupo Reforma.
Julio Vaqueiro is the new Mexico correspondent. He was most recently a writer, reporter and news anchor for Efecto TV, a year-old independent pay TV channel in Mexico. He previously worked as a reporter and web writer with Grupo Editorial Expansion. He got his journalism start in El Sol de San Juan newspaper in 2003.
Nayeli Chávez-Geller is New York correspondent. She has been a NY-based freelance reporter for CNN en Español and Univision for the past 2 years. She previously spent 6 years as Univision’s “Primer Impacto” NY correspondent. Before that, she worked as assistant producer for the news magazine “Aquí y Ahora.”
Rogelio Mora-Tagle returns to the network’s Miami headquarters from his correspondent position in Mexico City. He has spent more than 10 years with the company, anchoring the now-defunct weekend edition of “Noticiero Telemundo,” “Cada Día,” and “Hoy en el Mundo.” He previously worked as a sports anchor at CBS Telenoticias, a 24-hr Spanish-language news channel that shut down in 1999. In Mexico, he worked as Sports Bureau Chief for Núcleo Radio Mil and written columns for El Pais and El Diario Marcador.
