Rafael Bello, whose run as an entertainment anchor at New York’s Telemundo 47 abruptly ended two weeks ago, will be back on the air this weekend.
The Emmy award-winning sports and entertainment anchor is debuting his own show on ESPN Deportes Radio 1050 AM in New York.
The weekly “Desde las Gradas con Rafael Bello” starts this Sunday, July 26 at 11 am.
The one-hour sports and entertainment show will be the lead-in to MLB and NFL games on ESPN Deportes Radio.
Rafael promises the program will offer the audience an interactive experience.
This marks a return to sports for Rafael, after a one-year stint as entertainment anchor for WNJU’s “Acceso Total NY.”
He had previously been weekend sports anchor at the Telemundo station and in his native Dominican Republic.
“Sometimes we don’t understand the decisions management makes, but we respect them and move forward”, he says about his departure from the Telemundo.
“After I was informed that I was no longer part of WNJU, I took this as an opportunity to focus 100 percent on my personal projects,” Rafael says.
That included launching the first annual summer camp through his non-profit organization “Saca los Dientes Foundation,” a program for low income children.
Now, he’s focusing on his new radio show and covering what he loves most – sports.
