Tribune to sell Cubs and Wrigley

Looking to cut some of the multi-billion dollar debt acquired with the purchase of the Tribune Co., the investor group led by billionaire Sam Zell announced plans to sell the Chicago Cubs baseball team and Wrigley Field stadium in the next six months.

Bloomberg is reporting the sale could bring in more than $1 billion. Tribune today reiterated the going-private buyout will close by year-end, leaving it with about $12 billion in debt.
