Cárdenas moves up to GM

John Cárdenas has been hired as the new general manager for WTHR-13, the NBC affiliate in Indianapolis. He leaves WBNS-10 in Columbus, where he has been news director for the past 11 years. He starts the new gig on June 1.

John is an Emmy award-winning journalist, with 23 years in the business. Prior to joining WBNS, he was news director at KPHO-5 in Phoenix and assistant news director at KGTV-10 in San Diego. He started his career as a producer at KATU-2 in Portland. John is originally from La Paz, Bolivia.
