Monica Lozano is the new CEO of impreMedia, effective immediately. She fills the position vacated by John Paton, who left the company in January. Former Univision exec Michael Wortsman had been serving as the interim CEO since Paton’s departure. He now joins the impreMedia board of Directors as Chairman.
Lozano has been in a leadership role at the company since its founding in January 2004. Until now, she was publisher and CEO of La Opinión and SVP of impreMedia, overseeing its publishing group.
The appointment ends speculation of who would take over the company. Until recently Arturo Durán, CEO of impreMedia Digital, was considered a contender for the position, but he was laid off from the company in mid May.
