Hugo Balta is staying put in New York. He just got hired by WCBS-2 as Managing Editor. He starts the new job on July 6.
Hugo tells me: “I’m very grateful for this opportunity and excited to work with one of the most respected news teams in the country.” He’ll be working directly with the Reporters and Assignments team, focusing on content for all news programs.
Hugo was laid off in October of last year from Telemundo, where he had been VP of news for the NY station. He previously worked as a producer for WNBC and a senior producer for MSNBC.
