Wendy Corona, who filed a lawsuit for breach of contract and defamation against KPRC-2 last July, lost her case in court. She was seeking $3.2 million in damages plus court costs.
Wendy was laid off from her 4 and 6 pm anchor job in January of 2009. At the time, the news director had said it was an economic decision. Six months later, Wendy sued the station as well as the station manager and two news executives.
According to the Houston Chronicle, the judge dismissed allegations of breach of contract, defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, misrepresentation and fraud.
A counterclaim against Wendy is still pending before the court.
