Founder of El Nuevo Herald dies at 82

Roberto Suárez, who launched El Nuevo Herald in 1987 as The Miami Herald’s Spanish-language daily, died early this morning of complications from Alzheimer’s disease, at age 82.

A story in the Miami Herald highlights how, Mr. Suárez, a Cuban refugee, began his career as mailroom clerk at the paper and ended it as publisher of El Nuevo Herald.
