It appears things are looking up for Gannett. The media company announced on Friday that its second quarter earnings more than doubled compared to the same quarter last year. The revenue increases were across all of its combined media divisions. TV revenues shot up from $148.4 million to $177.5 million. Digital revenues clocked in at $252.2 million, now representing 19% of its total operating revenue.
Other notable news announced: USA Today’s app leads among news sites on the iPad news and downloads of Gannett apps on all devices has passed the 5 million mark. Also, CEO Craig Dubow announced the company struck an advertising partnership with Yahoo. The deal will allow Gannett’s to sell Yahoo advertising inventory as part of its local advertising solutions.
