Maelia Macín has been named Executive Vice President of Network Sales for Univision Networks. She’ll be moving to New York, where she’ll oversee all ad sales and marketing operations for Univision, TeleFutura and Galavisión networks. She’ll report directly to David Lawenda, president of Advertising Sales and Marketing.
Maelia was most recently VP and General Manager of KMEX-34 in Los Angeles and Univision Regional Director for the Southwest region – a promotion she earned only months ago, in November of 2010. She has been with Univision since 1992.
Alberto Mier y Terán has been named Vice President and General Manager of KMEX-34, replacing Maelia. He moves to L.A. from Chicago, where he was appointed VP and GM for WGBO-Univision 66 and WXFT-Telefutura 60 in April of last year. He was previously VP and GM for Entravision’s Univision and Telefutura stations in San Diego.
Alberto will be reporting directly to Peter Walker, President of Univision Local Media.
Peter Lazarus has been named EVP, Sales Strategy – New Networks. He’ll continue to be based in NYC and report to David Lawenda. He’ll be working closely with Univision Networks and the company’s distribution sales and marketing teams. Peter joined Univision in Jan. 2008. Since then, he merged three sales teams into one to represent the overall Univision Networks offering. He was previously Sr VP of Sales and Business Development for IMG Sports and Entertainment. Before that, he spent almost 10 years at NBC Universal in several executive positions.
