Lucía Ballas-Traynor has been hired by CafeMom, a social-networking and community site aimed at mothers, to launch a site geared to Hispanic moms.
Lucía, who left her job as Publisher of People en Español in March of this year, will run the yet unnamed “Mamas Latinas” site.
CafeMom, co-founded by Michael Sanchez and actor Andrew Shue (of “Melrose Place” fame) has just launched a daily deals site for moms, set to compete with Groupon and LivingSocial. According to All Things Digital, the site will first be available in the Northern New Jersey area.
CafeMom says it has 7.6 million unique visitors each month.
