They tried… but Telemundo’s aggressive efforts to secure Emmy nominations for their hit novela “La Reina del Sur” and its star, Kate del Castillo were unsuccessful.
The Primetime Emmy nomations were announced today and the actress and the show were not among the nominees.
Two Latino actors did get nominated in the following categories:
Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie – Edgar Ramirez, “Carlos”
Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series – Sofía Vergara, “Modern Family”
Amanda says
ha, ha, ha nominate this novela would have been too funny to the gringos.
ng says
yeh right nomination? when hollywood starts portraying latinos in roles that don’t include: cholos, immigrants, gardeners or nannies.
guillermo serrano says
This proves that it doesn’t matter the high rating of a program, but it has to fit the gringo mentality. Otherwise latinos have to compete in what is known the Latin Emmy, that nobody knows or watch
Amanda says
the only people that watch the novelas are the undocumented, and maybe the first generation. If you speak English why would you waste your time watching this crap when there is better quality programming in English.
Jose says
Who is surprised about that?
