Televisa has signed a multi-year content licensing agreement with Netflix. Under the terms of the deal, Televisa will provide 3,000 hours of progamming annually to Neflix on a non-exclusive basis.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the deal does not include the United States.
Bloomberg reports Netflix also signed a 3-year deal with TV Azteca for up to 1,500 hours of programming. The network’s content, including their popular novelas, will be available to Netflix for distribution one year after it airs on broadcast TV.
Financial details of the deals were not disclosed.
Earlier this month, Netflix announced they were expanding to “43 countries throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, offering unlimited TV shows and movies streaming instantly over the Internet to TVs and computers.”
