José Bastón Patiño, President of Television and Content for Grupo Televisa, S.A.B. and David Zaslav, President and CEO of Discovery Communications, have been elected to its Board of Directors.
José Bastón Patiño has served as President of Television and Content of Grupo Televisa, S.A.B. since December 2008. He has also been a member of the Grupo Televisa Board of Directors since April 1999 and is a member of its Executive Committee. Prior to 2008, he held multiple roles at Grupo Televisa, including: Corporate Vice President of Television, Vice President of Operations and general director of Programming. He has also served as a Director of Innova, S. de R.L. de C.V., the leading satellite pay television platform in Mexico and Central America, since 2000.
David Zaslav has served as President and CEO of Discovery Communications since January 2007. He previously spent almost 20 years at NBC Universal, serving as President of Cable and Domestic TV and New Media Distribution and playing critical roles in the development and launches of CNBC and MSNBC. Before joining NBC, Zaslav was an attorney with the New York firm of LeBouef, Lamb, Leiby & MacRae.
