Rosana Franco, sports anchor for “Primer Impacto” and formerly co-host of “República Deportiva,” is out of Univision after a 13 year run. Her last day was yesterday.
In her twitter feed she tells her fans: “After 13 years and 13 days, my time at Univision came to an end yesterday. From the bottom of my heart, I thank each and every one of my colleagues all the love and time we’ve shared…. and to all my twitter friends, thanks for the love and trust you’ve given me…. It’s very clear that without your loyalty and recognition, we’re nothing.”
Rosana has been guest host at “El Gordo y La Flaca” and “Depierta América.” She also hosted “Ver para creer” and covered special sporting events for “Noticiero Univision,” including three World Cups, NBA finals and Superbowls.

I always hated Univision for hiring her. Glad she’s gone. I hope she doesn’t re-appear on Telemundo or other sports shows.
Mr. A says
Great move Univision…I could not stand her with her “Hay ‘Ta”…Good riddance, and please, try to hire people from other places in Latin America…
vulo says
Well that sucks! We’ll miss you Rosana!
Technical director says
She will be missed!!!!
For those who posted mean remarks,
Don’t forget Univision ALWAYS will have to
Cater to the MEXICAN comunity…that is a fact.
At the end of the day that is the Execs GOAL…
that is why they need TELEVISA MÉXICO to
Guide them!!!
Incubus says
Not that i watch univision, but La Republica always caught my eye on Sundays. I saw this woman on this show and always thought she was out of place. that show needed hot young girls, and men to discuss the games. I dont know why she lasted 13 long years. Hope is the last time I she her on tv.
Latino says
Im am appalled by the comment from “Technical Director.” You might be academically educated, but you still lack respect. The world does not revolve around Mexico as you think.
Your “weather you like or or not” attitude stinks.
You judged the other comments as being mean, but yours came across as being not only mean but selfish and even racist toward the Latin community in the US.
Why do you feel mexicans need to be catered?
I for one moved on a long time ago. I dont watch Univision and I am glad I dont. There are plenty of other latin channels on TV (if you have satellite of course)
Technical director says
Latino….this is fact, look at all the programming from UNIVISION,
The majority comes from México, most of the news anchors are
Mexican, the provider for most of the programming is Televisa.
The other Spanish networks can’t compete with UTG, the ratings
Prove that!!!!
Read the comments above all attacking one person that is Mexican , I work for one
Of the networks that actually is taking audience from UTG ,
and the reason we are able to gain ground is because our
Programming is made to attract the Mexican comunity 1st,
and then who ever else wants to follow.
This is the reality of this industry.
I watch programming from other Latin American countries
And I can say that they have better product then UTG, & TELEMUNDO .

Wow! Way too many changes at Univision, and always the wrong ones. So Rosana is gone, and Fernando Fiore is still there?!?! I see him and I change the channel. The only Fernando more irritating than him was Arau. His firing was one of Univisions better moves. Who will be doing the sports on Primer Impacto?
Laura says
I don’t care much for Univision, they have the lamest programming, they think everyone just swam across the river, hate all that Mexican crap they put on. Wacala!
Alex says
She is great, at doing sports. She knows sports more than many men.
She doing anything else other than sports will never work.

@ Laura: For not caring for Univision you seem too inclined to make comments about a now former talent and programming. It seems you cared enough about Univision to leave a comment. Go figure. Oh and go take a Spanish writing class- you make yourself look ignorant with your spelling.

@ Latino: “Why do you feel Mexicans need to be catered?” Go look at the latest U.S. Census data:
“About three-quarters of Hispanics in the United States reported as Mexican, Puerto Rican or Cuban origin in the 2010 Census. Mexican origin was the largest group, representing 63 percent of the total U.S. Hispanic population — up from 58 percent in 2000. This group increased by 54 percent and saw the largest numeric change (11.2 million), growing from 20.6 million in 2000 to 31.8 million in 2010. Mexicans accounted for about three-fourths of the 15.2 million increase in the total Hispanic population between 2000 and 2010
The Mexican origin population represented the largest Hispanic group in 40 states, with more than half of these states in the South and West regions of the country, along with two states in the Northeast and all 12 states in the Midwest.”
That’s why you cater to Mexicans.
