Stephanie Ramos is leaving her weekend anchor/reporter job at WIBW.
Her last day on the air at the CBS affiliate in Topeka is April 15. She’ll be taking a 7-day break between jobs.
She starts her new reporter job at Kansas City ABC-affiliate KMBC on April 23rd.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the #1 station in Kansas City,” says Stephanie. “The team exudes professionalism, competitiveness and strong journalism ethics. Leaving WIBW is certainly bittersweet. I’m looking forward to beginning this new chapter in KC with my family and newfound TV family after nearly 5 years of hard work in every role at WIBW-TV.”
Stephanie had been with WIBW 13 News since October 2007. She was previously assignment editor for WIS channel 10, the NBC affiliate in Columbia, South Carolina.
You can also call Stephanie Captain Ramos. She joined the U.S. Army Reserves in April 2002, graduating the following year from Iona College where she got her B.A. in Broadcast Journalism. In 2005, she was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant just as she got her Master’s in Media Studies.
Stephanie was deployed to Iraq in 2008. She was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
She has also received the Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M Device, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star.
