“Noticiero Univision” anchors Jorge Ramos and María Elena Salinas were honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Jorge Ramos and María Elena Salinas(NATAS). They are the first Hispanics to receive this recognition in the News and Documentary category.
The longtime Univision anchors received the golden statuettes during the 33rd Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards ceremony in New York City on Monday, Oct. 1. NATAS announced they were the recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award back in June.
The award honors the very best news reporters and documentary films aired on national television or streamed over the Internet.
Jorge and María Elena both began their careers at the Univision’s Los Angeles flagship station, KMEX and have been with the network for more than 25 years.
