Telemundo is enjoying the network’s best February performance in its history with over 1.3 million total viewers during Monday through Sunday primetime, according to Nielsen. It has also seen double-digit gains in key demos compared to 2012.
Here are some of the primetime highlights:
- At 7pm, “Caso Cerrado Edicion Estelar” drew over 1.7 million total viewers for the second consecutive month and 753,000 among adults 18-49 averaging more than 700,000 in the demo for the fourth straight month – the longest streak in its history. Compared to the prior year, “Caso” grew +13% in total viewers and +16% among adults 18-49.
- At 8pm, the novela “Pasion Prohibida” averaged over 1.2 million total viewers during this month.
- At 9pm, “La Patrona” reached a new milestone with its ratings surge of over 2 million total viewers and 1,145,000 adults 18-49 during the week of February 18, (up 37% and up 46% vs. its premiere week respectively). The telenovela, starring Aracely Arámbula topped English-language broadcast programs among adults 18-49 including Fox’s “Touch” on February 22 and NBC’s “New Normal” and “Smash” on February 19.
- At 10pm, the drama “El Rostro de la Venganza” averaged 1 million total viewers.
In the news department, “Noticiero Telemundo” saw double digit growth versus 2012. The newscast, led by anchors José Díaz-Balart and María Celeste Arrarás, averaged 861,000 total viewers, 371,000 adults 18-49 and 377,000 adults 25-54, increasing +22%, +24% and +25%, respectively, vs. last year.
“Al Rojo Vivo con Maria Celeste,” will finish the month with double-digit growth as well, currently averaging 1,088,000 total viewers and 472,000 adults 18-49, an increase of +13% and +23%, respectively. February 2013 will mark “Al Rojo Vivo’s” fifth consecutive month of year-over-year growth among adults 18-49 and the fourth straight month of growth in total viewers.
