Univision has extended its lease at its New York headquarters and added some extra floor space.
The Spanish-language network signed a deal to include the 25th and 26th floors – an additional 39,742 square feet in the 605 Third Avenue building where it’s currently housed.
According to a story in The Commercial Observer, a spokesperson from real estate firm Fisher Brothers confirmed in a statement that Univision, which already occupies the 8th, 11th, 32nd and 33rd floors, will now have office space totaling over 175,000 square feet and that the lease extension was signed in December of 2012.
A Univision source says the expansion “speaks to Univision’s growth” and that the space will be used for sales, distribution, digital and corporate functions – not for the ABC/Univision joint venture, which will be based in Miami.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
