Miami radio DJ personality Betty Pino passed away last night. She had been in an induced coma since July 15 after suffering a bacterial infection. Betty was most recently the host of a show on Amor 107.5 FM that aired Mon-Fri from 10 am to 3 pm. She was well known for reporting on entertainment and celebrity gossip.
A native of Ecuador, Betty started her career as a radio DJ in Miami 1974 on the now defunct FM-92, becoming the first female DJ in South Florida. According to her Facebook site, she had been with Univision Communications since 1990.
The Facebook page of the popular radio DJ has the following statement:
“The queen of the radio has been called by the Lord, leaving a void that will be difficult to fill in her family, friends, listeners and everyone Betty helped throughout her radio career.”
In her memory, radio station Amor 107.5 uploaded a photo gallery tribute on its website.
