Sandra Thomas, Senior Director of Local and Affiliate News for Univision News is no longer with the company. She had been with Univision for the past 14 years, and in her current role since 2011. She was previously News Director at KVEA-52 in Los Angeles.
In a company-wide joint email sent out earlier today, Kevin Cuddihy and Isaac Lee made the announcement:
“Sandra has been a great leader at our organization and her tireless work, collaborative spirit and dedication to our mission have made an incredible impact. Please join us in thanking her and wishing her the best in her new endeavors.”
In the brief message, the execs state: “All of these efforts continue to build on Univision’s strategy of flattening the organization and becoming a leaner, more responsive, efficient and dynamic company that is open to constant change.”
Just yesterday, Univision announced the departure of Luis Fernández, President of Entertainment and Univision Studios and a restructuring of the top management.
An inside source says Univision will be doing more company-wide cuts as it positions itself for an IPO, possibly for 2014.
