More than 23 million U.S. Hispanics are active on Facebook every month. They are more frequent users of Facebook, upload more photos and videos and post more status updates, comments and “likes,” than the U.S. Facebook market at large – and they’re much more likely to access the platform on their smart phones. That’s according to Facebook’s own data.
So, the company has expanded its office in Miami as part of its efforts to target U.S. Hispanic users of its platform. Alexandre Hohagen, Vice President Facebook Latin America, moved from Brazil to Miami to assume the additional responsibility for U.S. Hispanic. And in June, Facebook hired Christian Martinez, previously VP of Network and Interactive Sales at Univision, to help run ad sales for the U.S. Hispanic market, also in Miami.
About 15 people will initially be working in the Miami office, but that number is expected to grow, as Facebook continues to strengthen its efforts to connect agencies and advertisers with U.S. Hispanic users on the social network.
