She sent out a tweet to her followers earlier in the day.
Apparently, she didn’t get a chance to say good-bye on the air. A follower suggested the station should have done a video tribute of her career, to which she replied she would welcome it.
A company spokesperson confirmed Teresa’s departure, but would not comment on any replacements. Her bio has already been removed from the company’s website.
As of today I not longer work for Univisión. I will miss everybody. My Univisión family.

Teresa has been 6 and 11 pm weekday anchor at KMEX since 1997. In 2011, the station took her off the 11 pm anchor desk and replaced her with Felicidad Aveleyra, a much younger anchor and former actress from Televisa Mexico. Teresa kept her seat at 6 pm and was sent out to do reporting for the 11 pm.
Teresa is well-known in the Los Angeles Spanish-language market, where she has worked for over 22 years. Before her most recent stint at KMEX, she was weekday anchor at Telemundo’s KVEA-52 in Los Angeles for 4 years. But she also previously worked at KMEX as an anchor from 1991 to 1993. Before that, she was an anchor for KUVN-23 Univision in Dallas.
