The Univision documentary “Rape in the Fields/Violación de un Sueño,” has been honored with the Alfred I. duPont Columbia University Award
The documentary, which aired on the Univision Network and PBS in June of 2013, was the result of a yearlong investigation by FRONTLINE, Documentales Univision, the Center for Investigative Reporting, and the Investigative Reporting Program at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, focusing on the sexual abuse, with impunity, of female migrant farm workers.
The special aired on Univision Network in Spanish and on PBS in English, marking the first time that Documentales Univision and FRONTLINE partnered on a nationwide premiere.
