“La Voz Kids” returns to Telemundo. The second season of the music competition show premieres Sunday, March 16 at 8 pm. The new season brings back almost all the players – coaches Prince Royce, Roberto Tapia and hosts Daisy Fuentes and Jorge Bernal.
Paulina Rubio was dropped for season 2. Natalia Jimenez was brought in as a third judge to replace her.
“Pau” has since sued Telemundo for breach of contract, claiming the network reneged on a $1.325 million deal for her to star in the show and looked to replace her with “less expensive talent.” The lawsuit cites Telemundo’s scheduling concerns with Fox’s “The X Factor,” where she’s also a judge were just a “pretext” for the network to get out of a contract. That would no longer be an issue now, since Fox cancelled the show in February.
“La Voz Kids” features young vocalists between 7 and 15 years old competing for a recording contract and a cash prize to support their education.
