Mexico’s Canal 22 celebrates 10 years in U.S.

Canal 22 Internacional is celebrating its 10^th anniversary in the United States. The channel will present special programming during the month of May to celebrate this milestone.

Under the banner of “A Reflection of our Traditions,” the programming highlights will kick off on May 5.

Some of the highlights:

·  Guelaguetza 2013 – Monday, May 5^th (7 a.m. PT, 11 a.m. ET) It’s a celebration full of color, music and history as viewers visit the 8 regions in the state of Oaxaca.

·  Experiencia Acústica: Eugenia León – Monday, May 5^th (1 p.m.PT/ 4 p.m.ET) This will be a special presentation of Mexican singer Eugenia León and Brazilian composer Iván Lins in concert, at the Metropolitan Theater in Mexico City.

·  Experiencia Acústica: 40 años de trova en México – Monday, May 5^th (3 p.m. PT/6 p.m. ET) It’s a unique concert that will present two great artists and their interpretations of Mexican popular music. It will be a night of romanticism,  

Canal 22 will also launch a special programming dedicated to travel and viewers will be able to take a trip and visit places in Mexico to discover the historical and cultural aspects that are part of their identity. These programs include Pueblos mágicos (Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30 p.m./7:30 ET), Poblanísimo (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 4:30 p.m. PT/7:30 p.m. ET), Tierra de magia (Monday through Friday 10 p.m. PT/ 1 a.m. ET), and Tesoros de Veracruz (Monday through Thursday 10:30 p.m. PT/ 1:30 a.m. ET).
