Telemundo announced it will launch its new national weekend newscast, “Noticiero Telemundo Fin de Semana,” on Saturday, October 4 at 5 pm ET and that Edgardo del Villar will be the show’s anchor.
Edgardo has been a network correspondent and news anchor for Telemundo’s “Un Nuevo Día,” since September of last year.
Before Telemundo, he worked in Mexico, where he anchored “Las Noticias,” Televisa’s primetime newscast in Monterrey. He also spent more than a decade as news director and anchor for various radio networks, including MVS, Radio Fórmula and Núcleo Radio Monterrey, and advisor to the editorial board of Grupo Reforma, Mexico’s largest media group.
