Eddie “Piolín” Sotelo had a short run on satellite radio. Less than a year after he launched his morning show on Sirius XM, his show has been canceled.
Sirius’ four-hour daily morning program “El Show de Piolín,” was launched on October 18, 2013, less than 3 months after Univision Radio canceled his syndicated show amid allegations of sexual misconduct.
Apparently, his popularity on Univision Radio didn’t translate to numbers on the satellite radio network.
After his departure from Univision Radio, his fans didn’t follow Piolín to Sirius, where listeners had to pay in order to tune in to the popular DJ.
SiriusXM issued a brief saying Piolín and the company had “mutually agreed to end their relationship,” and “wished him the best in his future endeavors.”
In March of this year, a judge threw out his extortion lawsuit against six of his former Univision Radio co-workers and in June, he ordered Eddie “Piolín” Sotelo to pay them more than $100,000 in legal fees.
