KTLM, Telemundo 40 McAllen, is expanding its local news operations, adding a 10 pm weekday and 4:30 and 10 pm weekend newscasts.
The station has hired Hugo Magallán to co-anchor the weekday 5 and 10 pm newscasts alongside Dalila Garza. Elizabeth Robaina joins the team as a Weather Anchor.
Héctor Zapata, who has worked as a news and sports reporter at Telemundo 40 since 2012, has been promoted to Sports Anchor.
Ana Cecilia Méndez will anchor “Noticias Telemundo 40” on Saturdays and Sundays at 4:30 PM and 10 PM.
The station debuted its new anchor team yesterday, September 2.
Hugo was most recently the morning news anchor for Univision McAllen from 2008 to 2014.
Elizabeth comes to Telemundo 40 from WAPA-TV in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where she was a weather anchor. She also worked as a weather anchor at Univision in Laredo from 2012 to 2013.
