Alejandra Molina has left América TeVé, prompting the station to change its anchor team for its 6 and 10 pm newscasts.
Starting today, Félix Guillermo will be anchoring América Noticias at 6 and 10 pm alongside Yelenis Reina.
Until last week, Alejandra Molina co-anchored AN6 with Yelenis and AN10 with Félix.*
Alejandra announced her departure from the station on the air during her last newscast on Friday, February 27.
She had been with the station for the past 12 years, starting as an intern, then hired as a reporter before getting promoted to the anchor chair.
There’s no word yet on Alejandra’s next move, although one social media message indicated she would be going to another station.
Yelenis has been a news anchor at América TeVé since 2009.
She previously worked as a news anchor at Univision and TeleMiami. She started her broadcast career in 1993 in her native Cuba as a radio presenter for Siboney & Mambi Radio.
Félix joined América TeVé as its 10 pm news anchor in 2005 and added show host duties for “A Mano Limpia” in 2013. He was previously a weekend news anchor for Telemundo 51 in Miami from 2001 to 2004. Before that, he spent 11 years in multiple anchor/host roles at WLTV-23 and Univision Network.
* An earlier story incorrectly stated that Félix co-anchored the 10 pm newscast with Yelenis.
