Azteca América’s flagship station, KAZA-54, will premiere “Viernes Futbolero Tiempo Extra,” a 30-minute live local show on Friday, April 10 at 9:30 pm PT.
Sportscaster Troy Santiago will host the only local live Spanish-language sports show broadcast in the Los Angeles market.
“Viernes Futbolero Tiempo Extra” will feature guest commentators and show game highlights, stats and analysis, in-depth commentary and closure of the live Mexican League matches that aired minutes prior.
The network is launching the new program to capitalize on strong ratings from its showing of Fútbol Liga Mexicana matches on Friday nights.
According to Azteca’s Station Group EVP Enrique J. Perez, the games are “consistently ranking number one in Los Angeles, regardless of language, among adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and men 25-54.”
Weekly segments on “Tiempo Extra” will include:
· “Deporte al Extremo” – A showcase of extreme and spectacular sports moments
· “El Sube y Baja” – Describes which teams are doing well and which aren’t
· “Cual es la Mejor Jugada” – game highlights and analysis
· “El Fan de la Semana” – A lucky fan is invited to participate live on the show to share opinions about the game
