Univision News has partnered with The Poynter Institute to provide training for the network’s news producers and assignment desk editors.
The teaching and coaching program will be available online through Poynter’s e-learning site www.newsu.org and will focus in digital tools, production techniques and critical thinking strategies for more powerful news reporting.
Al Tompkins, Poynter’s Senior Faculty for Online and Broadcast, will lead the program, which will consist of online seminars and in-person instruction.
Univision is one of 20 organizations to partner with Poynter for its training needs in recent months. Poynter’s other partners include Google, Gannett, McClatchy, Journal Media, The Associated Press, National Geographic and the Institute of International Education’s Fulbright Scholar program.
