Mario Kreutzberger, better known as “Don Francisco,” and “Sábado Gigante” will say good-bye for good as his show comes to an end on Univision on Saturday, September 19.
The final episode titled “Sábado Gigante – Hasta Siempre” will air coast-to-coast on Univision starting at 8 pm ET/PT (7 pm CT), and, for the first time, will be broadcast live by satellite to Chile and Mexico.
The last show will get a star-studded send-off in a “giant” celebration with performances by several artists, including Paulina Rubio, Enrique Iglesias, Juanes, Prince Royce, Laura Pausini and a special number by Daddy Yankee live from his concert at Madison Square Garden.
Gloria Estefan will debut the song “Hasta Siempre,” co-written with her husband, Emilio Estefan, especially for the evening’s festivities.
Don Francisco will also receive several recognitions by various dignitaries, including a Guinness World Record certification for the 4th time to “Sábado Gigante” as the longest-running weekly variety show with the same name and host.
The show has been on the air for 53 years and on Univision for the past 29. The network announced the show’s cancellation in April of this year.
