Univision’s 6 pm newscast in Miami edged past Telemundo to the #1 spot among adults 18-49 during the first week of October sweeps. This is the first time in a year that WLTV-23 reaches the top spot in that timeslot.
The station was quick to boast about its win October 1-8, creating a special graphic touting its #1 status for the week and sharing it on its Facebook page.
Coincidentally, that was also Ambrosio Hernández’s first week on the air as primetime anchor, six months after he left WSCV-51.
While some may attribute the ratings jump on his arrival at 23, it remains to be seen whether the 6 pm newscast will maintain the #1 spot.
Telemundo 51 remains #1 at 11 pm, enjoying the solid ratings lead from its 10 pm super series “Señora de Acero.”
