Roberto Llamas resigns; Margaret Lazo joins Univision

Roberto Llamas, Univision’s EVP of Human Resources and Community Empowerment has resigned after 5 years with the company. Univision says he left “to pursue other opportunities.”

To fill that void, Univision has hired former NBCUniversal and Telemundo HR executive Margaret Lazo. She starts her new job as the company’s Chief Human Resources Officer on April 11th.

She’ll be based in New York and report to President and CEO Randy Falco.

Lazo joins Univision from GE Capital where she served as Global Human Resources Leader for the past 4 years. She previously worked in several Human Resources leadership roles at NBC Universal, including EVP of Human Resources for cable and broadcast Entertainment and Digital properties, SVP of Human Resources Telemundo Communications Group and VP, Human Resources for the TV Stations Division.

She was the HR functional acquisition integration leader supporting NBC’s purchase of Telemundo in 2001 and contributed to shaping Telemundo’s business strategy following the acquisition, including the startup of content production studios in the US and Latin America.
