Former Fox News correspondent Orlando Salinas was arrested and charged with forcible sodomy and rape. Both charges are felonies.
According to Montgomery County Jail records obtained by the Roanoke Times, the charges against Salinas involve a woman who is not his wife and whom he allegedly forced, threatened and intimidated in January of this year.
He was booked yesterday evening and is being held without bail. He was in court today, where he was appointed a lawyer.
His next hearing date was scheduled for Oct. 19.
Salinas, who was most recently working as a real estate agent, had been off the air since April of last year, when he parted ways WDBJ-7, the CBS affiliate in Roanoke.
At the time, he posted on his Facebook page that he had “differing views on what constitutes news” with station management.
He previously spent 12 years as a Miami-based correspondent for Fox News.
