A judge has denied bail for Orlando Salinas, indicating he could pose a threat to the community due to the severity of the accusations against him.
During a court hearing yesterday, prosecutors accused the 55-year old former Fox News correspondent and WDBJ reporter of raping a 64-year-old woman suffering from health issues.
The Roanoke Times reports the sordid details of the alleged crime, which according to his lawyer, Salinas “vigorously disputes.” However, the prosecutor says Salinas “confirmed parts of the story” to investigators, there had been a “consensual” encounter.
Salinas was arrested on July 26. His trial is scheduled for October.
