Univision renames Gawker Media, hires Narisetti as its CEO

Univision has decided to change the name of Gawker Media to Gizmodo Media Group (GMG) and has hired Raju Narisetti to run all the unit’s sites as its Chief Executive Officer.

Narisetti, currently SVP of Strategy for News Corp., will join the company at the end of October.

Based at GMG headquarters in New York, Narisetti will report to Isaac Lee, Univision’s Digital News Chief and Entertainment Officer and Felipe Holguín, President and Chief Operating Officer of Fusion Media Group (FMG).

The GMG sites, which include Gizmodo, Jalopnik, Jezebel, Deadspin, Lifehacker, and Kotaku, will be a unit with the FMG.

Narisetti was previously Managing Editor of The Wall Street Journal Digital Network. He was Managing Editor of The Washington Post from 2009 to 2012, overseeing digital journalism products, as well as managing editing, design, photo, video, engagement and social media teams. Before that, he was Founder & Editor of India’s Mint newspaper (www.livemint.com).
