Award-winning Spanish-language podcast Radio Ambulante is getting the NPR treatment.
Starting November 22, NPR will distribute and promote the podcast hosted by Peruvian-American novelist Daniel Alarcón on its website, the NPR One app and iTunes.
Radio Ambulante is NPR’s first Spanish-language podcast.
The podcast, founded in 2011 with the help of a Kickstarter campaign, uses long-form audio journalism to tell important, but under-reported Latin American and Latino stories.
As part of a partnership with NPR, Radio Ambulante’s reporters will also collaborate with other public radio programs like Code Switch, Alt.Latino, Embedded and Latino USA.
Radio Ambulante’s first season on NPR will consist of 26 total episodes released weekly.
