Fusion relaunches website rebranded as Splinter

As of today, the Fusion website, originally launched as a content portal and the digital extension of a Univision English-language cable channel, has a new name: Splinter.

The relaunched digital publication went live today. In a welcome message titled “What the Hell Is Splinter?”, Editor-in-Chief Dodai Stewart explains the site “offers a sharp point of view… amplifying underrepresented voices, shining a light on systemic inequality, and skewering politicians when necessary.”

“Fusion Confusion” strikes again with the website name change and second domain move in a year.

The Fusion site lived on Fusion.net until May, when it was transferred to the Gizmodo Media Group (GMG) platform Fusion.kinja.com and currently, it’s at splinternews.com. Fusion.net is now the companion site to the cable network.

Splinter’s masthead reveals only has one Latino journalist – Jorge Rivas – in its team, with two others assigned to Fusion en Español.
