The station (virtual channel 40, UHF digital channel 23) currently airs Spanish-language music videos and is not available on cable or satellite providers.
Univision is buying the low-power class A station for a $750,000 more than its previous sale price of $1.8 million in 2015, when Radio Spectrum bought it from Abraham Telecasting Co. LLC.
Univision already owns two TV stations in Austin: KAKW-DT Univision 62 and KTFO-CD Unimás Austin (virtual channel 31; UHF digital channel 36).
The station was previously an affiliate of African-American religious The Word Network and before that, was the Home Shopping Network affiliate.
A little additional trivia: KXLK-CD was formerly owned by Pappas Telecasting.
