Univision and TED are partnering to distribute and market the first TED en Español weekly podcast to bring “ideas worth spreading” to the Hispanic market.
Gerry Garbulsky, curator of TED’s broader initiative to reach Spanish-speaking audiences, is the host.
The first podcast will premiere at a TED en Español en NYC event in New York City on April 26. Three episodes will be released that day.
TED is the producer of the podcast and will oversee the editorial and TED Talk curation of the initiative. As its partner, Univision will collaborate in selecting topics that will serve the Hispanic community.
TED presented its first Spanish-language TED Talks at the TED2017 Conference in Vancouver.
The first three episodes include talks by Univision news anchor Jorge Ramos, former Colombian presidential candidate Ingrid Betancourt and Gonzalo Villarino, repurposed from the 2017 conference. New TED Talks will be produced throughout the year with new episodes released every Thursday.
The partnership with TED is part of Univision’s expansion into the digital audio space, building on its existing catalog of podcast offerings available on the Uforia On-Demand platform. The TED en Español podcast will be available for free on Apple Podcasts, TuneIn, Stitcher, RadioPublic, and iHeartRadio.
