Lisa Maria Garza has started a new job as a reporter for the Orlando Sentinel.
She is part of the paper’s Communities Team, reporting feature stories about the cities of Winter Park, Maitland and the town of Eatonville in Orange County.
A San Antonio native, Garza moved to Florida from Texas, where she worked for Reuters as a reporter covering breaking news in the Dallas/Fort Worth area since 2013, after graduating from college.
Prior to landing her first journalism job, she participated in the New York Times Student Journalism Institute. She was also a collegiate correspondent for USA Today.
