Telemundo reveals production details leading to its World Cup debut

More than 500 employees are on the ground in Russia and ready for kick-off as Telemundo Deportes gets set for its debut as the exclusive Spanish-language TV home of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.

The small army of staffers will produce all 64 games across 11 cities, 12 venues and four time zones, with more than 20 technical production and editing facilities supporting multi-platform coverage.

In addition to a team of sports on-air talent led by Andrés Cantor and soccer legends serving as expert commentators, such as Diego Forlán, Manuel Sol and Claudio Borghi, Telemundo has sent the network’s top talent from Un Nuevo Día, Noticias Telemundo, Al Rojo Vivo and Titulares y Más, including José Díaz-Balart, María Celeste Arrarás, Marco Antonio Regil, Rashel Díaz and Ana Jurka to report live from Russia.

World Cup coverage will start each day with the morning show, with Rashel Díaz and Marco Antonio Regil broadcasting from Gorky Park in Moscow. The network is also launching new primetime studio show Viva el Mundial y Más hosted by TV host and actress Jacqueline Bracamontes and Titulares y Más co-host Karim Mendiburu.

Today, Telemundo released the following itemized “by the numbers” production details of the month-long event that starts this Thursday, June 14 and runs through Sunday, July 15:

According to Telemundo, its production team made more than 400 individual visits to Russia over 48 months of planning in preparation for the World Cup.
