Antonio Rodríguez has left KBLR Telemundo Las Vegas, where he was a most recently consumer investigative reporter, to join Telemundo 40 in McAllen as a weekday reporter.
He started the new job at the Texas station this week. His on-air debut is Monday, September 3.
Rodríguez had been at KBLR since 2014.
Telemundo Las Vegas has been in turmoil over the past year, losing several employees in a short period of time, including most recently its top two news executives.
This marks a return to McAllen for Rodríguez, who previously spent 8 years as a reporter and producer for Entravision’s KNSO Univision 48 and KFXV Fox 2 News, where he anchored and produced for the English-language stations’ “Good Day Valley” morning show.
An Emmy-award winning journalist, he began his career at Univision Arizona, where he worked from 2000 to 2006. He started as an assignment editor and moved to a producer role, before becoming a news reporter.
