Telemundo has promoted Grecia Medina to the newly created position of Production and Editorial Director of “Al Rojo Vivo con María Celeste.”
In her new role, she will oversee all content production and lead the entertainment magazine’s staff.
She reports to Vanessa Pombo, VP of Production and Business Management for Telemundo News.
During a company restructuring in February, Telemundo eliminated the executive producer position for “Al Rojo Vivo,” leaving a void in direct leadership over the show.
Medina joined Telemundo in August 2017, as a network news production manager. More recently, she was co-executive producer of “Viva el Mundial y Más,” a prime time sports and entertainment show that aired during the World Cup.
Medina previously spent 22 years at Univision in multiple capacities. She started as an associate producer for Univision network news, switching to mornings to help launch “Despierta América” as a producer in 1998. A year later, she moved to “El Gordo y la Flaca,” where she worked for 12 years, leaving the show as executive producer.
From 2010 to 2012, she was Director of Programming Administration. She then transferred to another division of Univision, becoming Executive Director of the Corporate Services Legal Department, where she coordinated programming and contract projects with Televisa.
Medina previously worked for Telemundo as an associate producer for “Sevcec” and the short-lived noon show “A Buena Hora.”
