A round of layoffs has hit two Telemundo units – morning show “Un Nuevo Día” and Telemundo Deportes.
According to sources, at least six people were cut from the morning show. Among them, a writer, an editor and producers, including L.A.-based Paco Haro, who coordinated live shots and produced for the show’s three west-coast reporters.
The number of job losses in the sports division is less clear, but according to one source, they may be slightly larger than those experienced by “Un Nuevo Día.”
A company spokesperson would not confirm the number of layoffs, but issued the following the statement about the job cuts:
“As we take a look at everything we do, we are reorganizing some of our internal functions to focus on areas that drive growth. These decisions are tough, but necessary to ensure the long term success of our business in a highly competitive and evolving media space.”

Unas 40, 50 personas. Nada bien. Algunos favoritismos en el proceso. Se fue gente que no debía y se quedaron los que pasean todo el día, nada nuevo.
