After more than two years as a ratings leader at 10 pm, Telemundo has dropped to second place, indicating Univision’s primetime fortunes may be taking a turn for the better.
The premiere of Univision’s supernatural series “Amar a Muerte” bested “Señora Acero 5,” propping the network to No. 1 in a timeslot dominated by rival Telemundo – at least for the show’s first week.
“Amar a Muerte” is an original series developed by Univision’s W Studios. “Señora Acero 5” is the fifth season of a previously top-rated Telemundo super series.
Univision execs have a positive outlook for its reincarnation-themed series, expecting a November sweeps win over Telemundo.
