Andrés Chaparro, general manager of KDEN Telemundo 25 Denver, is no longer with the company. He exited Telemundo today.
“Andres Chaparro has decided to move on from Telemundo Denver. We wish him well in his future endeavors,” says a station spokesperson.
Manuel Martínez, president of the Telemundo Station Group, will oversee the station’s operations until a Chaparro’s replacement is announced.
No further details about Chaparro’s departure are currently available.
Chaparro joined Telemundo Denver in 2010 as station manager and was promoted to GM in 2015, overseeing the overall management of the station’s broadcast, sales, marketing and digital operations.
He previously held sales manager positions at Telemundo Chicago and Dallas. Before that, he worked for the Entravision-owned Univision affiliate Albuquerque and KUVN Univision 23 in Dallas.

Well, that took long enough, did we have to wait for an affair with the news director to finally see him out ? Because we all know is not the first one. Well….at least there are hoped for a good restart at KDEN.
The blue collar Granny says
Details, please. It says “exited”, nor “fired”
But btw, since when an affair, pretty common within our factories, have cause such commotion ?
Tristan says
Wow, I’m surprise this didn’t happen years ago when his wife almost divorce him for another fun moment with a previous mistress. But hey, everything will catch up to you eventually.
Rrdz says
Shouldn’t she had to be gone as well ? The news director (griselle ) , This has been an affair going on for months and everybody knows this!!
Ashley TV says
I agree hopefully the heads of telemundo have some brains and guts to fire her as well
JT says
I believe it. How else can you promote from Executive Producer to News Director in less than 5 months. I guess that is how you climb the corporate ladder. No pun intended.
Rigoberta M says
It’s sad to see these ugly comments, when I have always known Mr. Chaparro to be a person of tremendous integrity and compassion. These slanderous and hateful comments should be removed; there is no truth to any of this nastiness.
Alondra says
So I am guessing you didn’t work at KDEN? Whatching how they rub each other’s legs? Laughing for hours in the office while everybody worked their asses?
Sebastian says
Mr. Chaparro is highly regarded in the Denver community as both a good guy and humanitarian. He’s also a creative and forward thinker who increased Telemundo’s audience greatly when he launched it’s news division. I wish him the best wherever he decides to go next. Sounds like some disgruntled envious or former employees posting here. This move is likely the result of the classic, short sighted corporate restructuring move- budget cuts that favor short term $ gains over excellence in journalism.

Correction gentlemen the channel was in first place because it had excellent talent but always he endeavored to destroy it by hiring a news director vetoed by other channels and another news director who was never going to work, telemundo is in decline begins to pay bill for hire discarded… is satisfactory to see him out in this way he deserves this bye parsero 🙂 una cucharada de tu propia medicina .
Anthony says
Please check your facts, in truth the station was in decline with small market share before Mr Chaparro arrived- it flourished and won awards under his leadership and vision. This is a man of integrity who is highly regarded and well liked in the Denver community, these ugly, petty comments have no place on a ‘news’ site.
Bobert says
Doubtful. I’m friends with people at the station and they are all telling me he was fired for multiple offenses. He’s even barred from entering his office. They described his situation as “a crime scene” since everything he owns in his office is locked behind a door and he has no key to it.
One does not get that sort of treatment from “corporate restructuring”. He made his bed, now he’s gonna sleep in it.
Jose says
I have friends there as well and this is a total lie. The station wouldn’t even exist without him. When he came on board it was gasping for breath…and was going to likely be closed down. All these years later they have 40 some staff, multiple newscasts, countless awards, and an amazing track record of community service. If you are bitter because you couldn’t make the grade there, you should lick your wounds and move on rather than post such lies and attack someone’s character.
Paco Jemellas says
Same as charlie rose….
Bobert says
You sound like someone paid you to kiss his ass. I’ll trust my friends who literally watched him be walked out and saw his phone and email wiped from the system. Whatever his contributions are to KDEN are now null and void because he couldn’t keep his dick in his pants.
luis says
This is called karma and sooner or later this happens…how to cope with the crisis of 40 years? cry for help, your friend the harasser number #1 in telemudos sorry..telemundo …calderon will helps you now.
Bobert says
I used to work for that guy. I didn’t care for him. He came off as extremely insecure and compensated by treating others like dirt. Guess it finally caught up to him. And all I got to say about that is HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I might not care much about the guy but I am really appalled by the level of carnage of some of these comments. He was good at his work (probably even better at making himself look good at it) and made some contributions to the stations he worked in. Perhaps it was time for him to go, little doubt about that… but the lynching here is brutal… especially coming from distinguished, professional news-making colleagues. Sad indeed as rumors about us all run deeper than truth.
As per being escorted, that is no indication of the reason for a person’s firing. How many colleagues I know saw their contracts cut, or were simply laid off to no fault of their own and saw themselves escorted out of the building without the possibility to even return to their desks to pick up their affairs (which were sent to them in box-when lucky).
The exit process for employees in the latino TV business should be as dignified as their hiring. Then again, Telemundo, Univision, Entravision have little understanding of valuing their human resources.
Reality is says
Process ? Never was. Never will. Hiring, salary range, exiting.
The second class treatment drives the Latino, our, side of the business
