Luis Estrada returns to Telemundo Atlanta as anchor and senior news reporter – a role he held from 2012 to 2017, when he moved to Telemundo Orlando to take over as anchor there.
But after ZGS sold all of its stations, Telemundo reorganized and he was one of the casualties in March 2018.
While he’s already on board at Telemundo Atlanta as of this week, he’ll start anchoring the 5:30 and 6 pm weekday newscasts in April.
The station has also hired Charlene Santiago as a multimedia journalist covering local general assignment stories for the 5:30, 6 and 11 pm newscasts, as well as the station’s website and digital platforms.
This is Santiago’s first broadcast job. She previously interned as a reporter and digital news writer in Washington D.C. for Cronkite News, the news division of Arizona PBS, The Star-Telegram and La Estrella newspapers in Dallas and Univision in Phoenix.
